दान का तत्व | Essence of Benefaction

Today I read this interesting chapter from "Skand Puran" describing the basic facts about benefaction ( दान ). This chapter tells us a story of Saint Naarad, who wished to donate some auspicious and Holly land to the most respectable Brahmins. Naarad found a place of pilgrimage named "Stambh" near the river Mahi. This land was owned by the King Dharamvarma, Saint Naarad knew that the king will donate that land to him, but Naarad did not want to own this land by requesting the King for a benefaction.
