वसुदेव द्वारा श्री कृष्ण की स्तुति || Prayers by Vasudev

When Vasudeva saw his extraordinary son, his eyes were struck with wonder. Vasudeva could understand that this child was the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Nārāyaṇa. Having concluded this without a doubt, he became fearless. Bowing down with folded hands and concentrating his attention, he began to offer prayers to the child, who illuminated His birthplace by His natural influence. Below is the same Prayer translated in Hindi as well as in English...

श्रीमद भागवत पुराण >> दशम स्कन्द >> तीसरा अध्याय 

वसुदेव जी ने कहा -- मैं समझ गया कि आप प्रकृति से अतीत साक्षात पुरुषोत्तम हैं. आपका स्वरूप है केवल अनुभव और केवल आनन्द. आप समस्त बिद्धियों के एकमात्र साक्षी हैं. [[ १३ ]]
आप ही सर्ग के आदि में अपनी प्रकृति से इस त्रिगुणमय जगत की सृष्टि करते हैं. फिर उसमें प्रविष्ट ना होने पर भी आप प्रविष्ट के समान जान पड़ते हैं [[ १४ ]]

जैसे जबतक महतत्व आदि कारण - तत्व पृथक - पृथक रहते हैं, तबतक उनकी शक्ति भी पृथक - पृथक होती है; जब वे इन्द्रियादी सोलह विकारों के साथ मिलते हैं, तभी इस ब्रह्मांड की रचना करते हैं और इसे उत्पन्न करके इसी में अनुप्रविष्ट से जान पड़ते हैं; परन्तु सच्ची बात तो यह है कि वे किसी भी पदार्थ में प्रवेश नहीं करते. ऐसा होने का कारण यह है कि उनसे बनी हुई जो भी वस्तु है, उसमें वे पहले से ही विद्यमान रहते हैं [[ १५ - १६ ]] 

ठीक वैसे ही बुद्धि के द्वारा केवल गुणों के लक्षणों का ही अनुमान किया जाता है और इन्द्रियों के द्वारा केवल गुणमय विषयों का ही ग्रहण होता है. यद्यपि आप उनमें रहते हैं, फिर भी उन गुणों के ग्रहण से आपका ग्रहण नहीं होता. इसका कारण यह है कि आप सब कुछ हैं, सबके अन्तर्यामी हैं और परमार्थ सत्य, आत्मस्वरूप हैं. गुणों का आवरण आपको ढक नहीं सका. इसलिए आपमें ना बाहर है ना भीतर. हीर आप किस्में प्रवेश करेंगे? [[ १७ ]] 

जो अपने इन दृश्य गोनों को अपने से प्रित मान कर सत्य समझता है, वह अज्ञानी है. क्योंकि विचार करने पर ये देह - गेह आदि पदार्थ वाग्विलास के सिवा और कुछ नहीं सिद्ध होते. विचार के द्वारा जिस वस्तु का अस्तित्व सिद्ध नहीं होता, बल्कि जो बाधित हो जाती है, उसको सत्य मानने वाला पुरुष बुद्धिमान कैसे हो सकता है? [[ १८ ]] 

प्रभो ! कहते हैं कि आप स्वयं समस्त क्रियाओं, गुणों और विकारों से रहित हैं. फिर इस जगत की सृष्टि, स्थिति और प्रलय आपसे ही होते हैं. यह बात परम ऐश्वर्यशाली परब्रह्म परमात्मा आपके लिए असंगत नहीं है. क्योंकि तीनों गुणों के आश्रय आप ही हैं, इसलिए उन गुणों के कार्य आदि का आप में ही आरोप किया जाता है. [[ १९ ]] 

आप ही तीनों लोकों की रक्षा करने के लिए अपनी माया से सत्वमय शुक्लवर्ण धारण करते हैं, उत्पत्ति के लिए रज: प्रधान रक्तवर्ण और प्रलय के समय तमोगुण प्रधान कृष्णवर्ण स्वीकार करते हैं. [[ २० ]] 

प्रभो  आप सर्वशक्तिमान और सबके स्वामी हैं. इस संसार की रक्षा के लिए ही आपने मेरे घर अवतार लिया है. आजकल कोटि कोटि असुर सेनापतियों ने राजा का नाम धारण कर रखा है और अपने अधीन बड़ी बड़ी सेनायें कर रखी हैं. आप उन सबका संहार करेंगे [[ २१ ]] 

देवताओं के भी आराध्य देव प्रभो ! यह कंस बड़ा दुष्ट है. इसे जब मालूम हुआ कि आपके अवतार हमारे घर होने वाला है, तब उसने आपके भी से आपके बड़े भाइयों को मार डाला. अभी सुके दूत आपके अवतार का समाचार उसे सुनायेंगे और वह अभी-अभी हाथ में शस्त्र लेकर दौड़ा आएगा [[ २२ ]]  

Below is the English Translation of the above STUTI...

Vasudeva said -- My Lord, You are the Supreme Person, beyond material existence, and You are the Supersoul. Your form can be perceived by transcendental knowledge, by which You can be understood as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. I now understand Your position perfectly. [[ 13 ]] 

My Lord, You are the same person who in the beginning created this material world by His personal external energy. After the creation of this world of three guṇas [sattva, rajas and tamas], You appear to have entered it, although in fact You have not. [[ 14 ]] 

The mahat-tattva, the total material energy, is undivided, but because of the material modes of nature, it appears to separate into earth, water, fire, air and ether. Because of the living energy [jīva-bhūta], these separated energies combine to make the cosmic manifestation visible, but in fact, before the creation of the cosmos, the total energy is already present. Therefore, the total material energy never actually enters the creation. Similarly, although You are perceived by our senses because of Your presence, You cannot be perceived by the senses, nor experienced by the mind or words. With our senses we can perceive some things, but not everything; for example, we can use our eyes to see, but not to taste. Consequently, You are beyond perception by the senses. Although in touch with the modes of material nature, You are unaffected by them. You are the prime factor in everything, the all-pervading, undivided Supersoul. For You, therefore, there is no external or internal. You never entered the womb of Devakī; rather, You existed there already. [[ 15 - 17 ]] 

One who considers his visible body, which is a product of the three modes of nature, to be independent of the soul is unaware of the basis of existence, and therefore he is a rascal. Those who are learned have rejected his conclusion because one can understand through full discussion that with no basis in soul, the visible body and senses would be insubstantial. Nonetheless, although his conclusion has been rejected, a foolish person considers it a reality. [[ 18 ]] 

O my Lord, learned Vedic scholars conclude that the creation, maintenance and annihilation of the entire cosmic manifestation are performed by You, who are free from endeavor, unaffected by the modes of material nature, and changeless in Your spiritual situation. There are no contradictions in You, who are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Parabrahman. Because the three modes of material nature — sattva, rajas and tamas — are under Your control, everything takes place automatically. [[ 19 ]] 

My Lord, Your form is transcendental to the three material modes, yet for the maintenance of the three worlds, You assume the white color of Viṣṇu in goodness; for creation, which is surrounded by the quality of passion, You appear reddish; and at the end, when there is a need for annihilation, which is surrounded by ignorance, You appear blackish. [[ 20 ]] 

O my Lord, proprietor of all creation, You have now appeared in my house, desiring to protect this world. I am sure that You will kill all the armies that are moving all over the world under the leadership of politicians who are dressed as kṣatriya rulers but who are factually demons. They must be killed by You for the protection of the innocent public. [[ 21 ]] 

O my Lord, Lord of the demigods, after hearing the prophecy that You would take birth in our home and kill him, this uncivilized Kaḿsa killed so many of Your elder brothers. As soon as he hears from his lieutenants that You have appeared, he will immediately come with weapons to kill You. [[ 22 ]]
